Today’s top story is from New York. Kathy Hochul’s Lt. Governor Brian Benjamin resigned on Tuesday after being arrested for campaign fraud. This makes State Senator and Majority Leader Andrea Stewart Cousins defacto Lt. Governor for the second time in about 7 months. Meanwhile Hochul is looking for a new Lt. Governor. Although, at this point in time Brian Benjamin is stuck on the 2022 primary ballot. Has she lost the trust of the people? We think so. The other top contender for the New York Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Tom Suozzi, may face repercussions from the House Ethics Committee for failing to file stock reports in a timely manner.
